Scholarships

LPAA scholarship applications have been changed to fillable PDF’s

Instructions to complete 2024 LPAA scholarships are as follows:

  1. Download and thoroughly read the guidelines for each scholarship which you are applying
  2. Download the fillable PDF for the scholarship you wish to apply and SAVE TO YOUR DESKTOP
  3. Complete scholarship application PDF and SAVE TO YOUR DESKTOP. Then email your saved application along with the other needed documents, to designated person listed in guidelines and application by the DEADLINE: March 31, 2024.

In addition to the following four LPAA Scholarships, the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County Inc. offers the E.K. Keesling Scholarship and several other Scholarships.  The E.K. Keesling Scholarship was produced a few years ago by Center High School Alumni. You may apply for the E.K. Wapahani Alumni Scholarship

The LPAA Wapahani Alumni Scholarship is to be presented to a graduating, college-bound, Wapahani High School senior. One non-renewable scholarship of $750 will be awarded to the college-bound student who most demonstrates a desire to succeed in their chosen career, a willingness to work toward goals, has a positive attitude and shows pride in being a Wapahani Raider.

Selma Bluebirds Memorial Scholarship

The LPAA Selma Bluebirds Memorial Scholarship is to be presented to a graduating, college-bound, Wapahani High School senior. This scholarship is in memory of author Wayne Cox and other Selma High School graduates. Selma High School and Center High School were the two high schools that consolidated to become Wapahani High School in 1967. One non-renewable scholarship of $750 will be awarded to a college-bound student who exhibits a desire to learn and help educate others about Liberty-Perry schools history.

Morton A. Lambert Scholarship

The family of Morton A. Lambert has established the Morton A. Lambert Scholarship to be awarded to a graduating Wapahani High School Senior.  The applicant must be accepted to an accredited college or university and plan to pursue a four-year degree of his/her choosing. One renewable scholarship of $1000 will be awarded and may be renewed up to three additional consecutive years.  The LPAA is proud to be present the Morton A. Lambert Scholarship.

Alyssa Anne Couch Scholarship

Family and friends of Alyssa Couch has established this scholarship to be presented to a graduating Wapahani High School senior planning to attend Ball State University.  One non-renewable $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who most demonstrates a desire to learn, good moral character and willingness to help others.   In addition, careful consideration will be given to the applicant’s academic achievement, leadership skills, extracurricular activities, community/volunteer activities, letters of recommendation and answers to the essay questions.  This scholarship is fully supported by the Liberty-Perry Alumni Association.
